GBA Movie Player (GBAMP 2)
Game Boy Advance Movie Player
Because I've been interested in experimenting with the GBA and Nintendo DS for quite some time, I picked up the least expensive compact flash interface to the GBA, the GBA Movie Player (labeled "A cool device for your GBA/SP and NDS - MOVIE ADVANCE").
When plugged into your GBA, this little device allows your GBA to play movies and music, although my main purpose has been to allow me to run homebrew software created by me and others.
I ordered my GBAMP through Natrium42's web site, who seemed to have some of the best prices for a complete GBA and NDS development kit, which consists of:
- GBAMP - GBA to compact flash interface. This has no memory on it - see below.
- USB 2.0 compact flash card reader/writer - to allow programming of the compact flash card on the PC.
- Passcard (labeled "The perfect flash card boot-up solution - For DS LITE & NDS") - only necessary for the Nintendo DS, to allow it to boot from the GBAMP.
Because I didn't already have any compact flash cards, it was also necessary for me to pick up a compact flash card to sneakernet software and data between the USB reader/writer and the GBAMP.
After some shopping around, I found low prices on top quality compact flash (along with other portable storage) at FlashMemoryStore. These guys also have a money back guarantee and their products carry a lifetime warranty.
