Who is this Brendan guy?
Well, I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...
Where does he work?
I work in Austin, Texas for Raza Microelectronics, Inc. verifying the Alchemy processor family. Prior to RMI, I worked for Metta Technology, another multimedia processor company and Conexant, before that, where I verified hardware and much of the software used on television set-top boxes (cable/satellite recievers/demodulators).
Prior to Conexant, I worked in Austin on BOPS, Inc.'s DSPs and, before that, Somerset's (Apple /IBM/ Motorola's) PowerPC processors (used in Apple MacIntoshes) doing hardware verification.
Where does he live?
I live near Lago Vista, Texas in a home that feels nicely away from it all on a hilly, rocky, but treed 6.6 acre lot with my sweetheart, Robin, our dog (Buffy), 2 cats (Orion, & Kira), 2 horses (Fantasia & Hoover), and 4 chickens. The home was built for me, although I handled all the utilities (water, septic, power, telephone) myself and wired (power, phone, network, TV, speakers, security, etc.) the place myself (with lots of help from my friend, Jay).
What does he do in his spare time?
